T is for trusses and great big triangles.
We decided to take another long lunch and headed to the house today, which by the way is now semi-wrapped. At least the second floor, that is. Check out what we found propped up against the dumpster! Do you notice anything missing? That great big hole will be for extra living space. I can't wait to check out the attic! Hurry, guys! (note to self: get case of Red Bull for crew)
How do they move these beauties from the stack to against the dumpster you ask? With an awesome operator and a handy dandy telescopic handler, that's how! (yes, I looked it up)
If you look closely, there's a can of Red Bull on the back. Its owner came out to retrieve it a little while later. |
I would have stayed all day if I didn't have that whole work thing but I did get to chat with two wonderful SRs. (WOOT! to B and K!) They said they'd take pictures for me when the crane shows up. I'm hoping that was today so we can remain on schedule but no pictures yet from either SR. Hopefully, I will have some action shots of mid-flight trusses to share this week. At the very least, there will be a weekend post with pictures of them in their final destination.
By the way, if your SRs ask why you don't bring them treats and goodies, I do not know what you're talking about...
So, what type of treats and goodies are we talking about? :-)
ReplyDeleteYour timing was impeccable to catch those pictures!! Awesome!! Soooooo.......what type of treats and goodies...I am with Maria on this one....what do they mean?
ReplyDeleteLOL! Our SRs are usually plying us with treats and goodies. I think we wore out their Kuerig.
ReplyDeleteHi there! I tried to post last night (when my baby refused to sleep!), but I guess I didn't post it correctly. I am your next door neighbor in Lot 107! We did a blog during the building process, but I have been a huge slacker and haven't put any pics of the finished product on. Our blog is fromholetohome.blogspot.com I wanted to let you know that the electrician will install any ceiling fans or pendant lights you have if you drop them off. Everyone is so helpful! Also, I ordered 42 x 60" blinds for the house from JCPenneys to be mounted inside, and they fit well enough...and are about 1/4 of the price of custom ones. We got the cellular ones upstairs where you can pull them down or up, which we are loving!
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you have any other questions about anything...we have been there for over a month now and are starting to finally feel like the house is really ours!
Hello there, neighbor! :) So far, I've met S (103) and exchanged a few words with your hubby.
DeleteSweet deal on the accommodating electrician. I suppose the crew would prefer to have some light in the house at some point and may beg the electrician to install them as well! I saw similar blinds at Lowe's and love them so thanks for the heads up on JCP!
I hope your wee one lets you sleep tonight. It won't be so noisy in 106 for very long (fingers crossed).
P.S. We "phooey-ed" you for grabbing the stone mountain clay siding (our first choice). We're really liking the Silver Mist now!
Deleteoh, you know, cars, jewelry, time shares, paid vacations... (HA!) Seriously though, just cookies and cupcakes. My little one likes to share. :)
ReplyDeleteMy hubby said that if you would like, we could set up our webcam (usually used to spy on our dogs when we are away!!) in our morning room so you could watch your house progress in real time. I know that this was something that we really wanted to do, but when we were building, there weren't any neighbors close enough to ask. Hope that this doesn't sound creepy! haha
ReplyDeleteI <3 you guys!! As much as we would love to take you up on that offer, we wouldn't be able to stream the video at work. :( ...but if you could set them up inside our house, I would be running to the nearest wifi hotspot any chance I could! (now who's the creepy one?) Thank you again for the offer. We both really do appreciate you thinking of us!
